Centaur Packaging

Branding / Front End Development / Website Design
As a business that sells packaging products online, Centaur Packaging needed a website that was both beautiful and had powerful e-commerce capabilities lying beneath the hood.

We delivered on both counts with a brand spanking new site built on eBay's Magento platform, providing the functionality that an online business of this scale requires. All this is wrapped up in a responsive website, designed to make the shopping experience easy.

This project was my first time doing front-end development for a Magento website, or a large e-commerce site. It was definitely a challenge, one which I decided to meet by building a design on strong foundations. In particular, the front-end development was started from a strong base set of styles, preparing the design for the rigours of powering a complicated e-commerce beast.

My design keeps this all the down-low, with a simplistic and fashionable identity placing emphasis on the products, and a very strong navigation model ensuring users feel completely comfortable using the site.

One of the major considerations in this project was responsive design, ensuring the website was tailored for usability on mobile devices.
As part of a refresh of their visual identity to better fit the web, I created a new horizontal variant of their existing logo for a stronger impact in the site header.
With usability and navigation taking precedence, I prepared the layout with Information Architecture planning prior to the website design.
